The majority of men are turned off by an enormous chest size in a woman, according to a new survey.

With the average bra size now going up to a 34E, men are finding that they are not actually in seventh heaven but turned off by the ample bra size.

Around 31 per cent of respondents to the study said anything above a D cup would put them off because they cannot handle the fuller-figured woman.

The poll of 13,000 single men found that one in ten British men find big breasts a turn-off, while 22 per cent said a D cup is as far as they would go.

But it is not the naturally curvy women that these men are turned off by, but the Barbie doll features enhanced by plastic surgery.

Around 27 per cent of men said they would prefer a flat-chested woman to one who had undergone surgery to achieve a gravity-defying bosom.

Hollywood heartthrob George Clooney is rumoured to have broken up with Sarah Larson following her breast enlargement because he disagreed with it.

Singles coach Dr Nafsika Thalassis said: "These results show that there is a considerable disparity between what women think men find attractive and the truth of the matter.

"We are often told that both men and women are spending increasing amounts of money on their appearance but, even though we expect our partners to be well-groomed, it seems that many of us draw the line at dating people with surgical implants."

She said it also begs the question why so many people opt for plastic surgery in the first place.

Women often say they want to go under the knife to make themselves more attractive to the opposite sex, but the survey reveals they could be doing more harm than good when it comes to their chances in the dating game.
